Nha Trang Wiki

About this wiki

Nha Trang Wiki is an independent reference encyclopedia of one Vietnamese city. It exists because the English-language record of Nha Trang is mostly hotel marketing and copied listicles, and because the city was abolished as an administrative unit on 1 July 2025 in a reform that most pages have not caught up with.

What it covers

One article per named thing in the city: a ward, a former ward or commune, a neighbourhood, an island, a beach, a street, a bridge, a market, a pagoda, a church, a Cham tower, an institute, a hospital, a festival, a dish, a person, a storm. The scope is the former city of Nha Trang as it stood until 30 June 2025 and the four wards that replaced it, together with the bay and its islands.

Articles are written in the third person. They say what a thing is, where it is, how big it is, what happened to it and when. They do not recommend, rank or sell.

How it is written

Every number carries a numbered citation to a page the editors actually read: a government resolution, a census table, the provincial portal, a Wikipedia article and the source it cites, a newspaper report. The list at the foot of each article gives the URL and the date it was read.

Where a figure could not be verified, the article says that no published figure was found. A gap is more useful than a guess.

Identifiers matter. Where the subject exists in Wikidata, the article carries the item number and links to the Wikipedia articles that exist, so that a reader or a machine can tell this Dam Market from any other string of the same name.

The sister sites

The same publisher runs a reference encyclopedia of the whole province, Khanh Hoa Wiki, which covers the former districts, the other bays, the former Ninh Thuan and the Truong Sa special zone. This site goes one level below it: the province wiki has one article on Nha Trang, this one has an article on every ward, street and institution of the city.

Two visitor guides by the same publisher, Nha Trang Guide for the city and Cam Ranh Guide for the airport and the Bai Dai resort strip, answer visiting questions. The wiki hands those questions to them and never answers them itself. Where an article carries a line saying where to read about visiting, that link goes to a page that exists on the guide.

Money

This site carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no paid placements. Nothing on it is for sale. The sister guides earn commission on hotel bookings and say so on every page that carries such a link.

Corrections

If a figure here is wrong, or a source says something different from what the article claims, tell the editors which article and which line. A correction with a source is the most useful thing a reader can send.
